Rock legend Bruce Springsteen wants your mom to vote for Barack Obama.
In fact, he's even willing to write her a note to persuade her.
That's what happened when "The Boss" visited Eastern Michigan University for a benefit concert to register voters and rally support on behalf of Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama ahead of the Nov. 4 election.
Until Springsteen arrived, Geoff Burns' mom, Kristy, was among those voters who were "undecided." But as he was greeting a line of fans after the show, Springsteen quickly penned a note on a piece of scratch paper asking her to change her mind.
"Kristy, vote for Obama. Bruce Springsteen," he wrote.
"As soon as she sees this message from Bruce, she will go straight to the polls and vote for Obama now," an excited Burns said.
Along with a small mass of Boss-shocked fans, Burns had the chance to meet Springsteen in right field of Eastern Michigan University's Oestrike Baseball Stadium 15 minutes after Springsteen delivered an acoustic musical performance at the Oct. 6 concert.
An estimated 11,000 people were in attendance at the performance rally entitled "Change Rocks," a part of the "Vote for Change" concert series sponsored by the Obama campaign. Springsteen headlined the last of the three events that were held in swing states whose votes will be critical in determining the upcoming election.
An estimated 50,000 people attended a rally in Philadelphia a few days prior to the Michigan show, which was followed by a rally in Columbus, Ohio, which drew a crowd of 10,000. The goal of the series was to sign up last-minute voters in the final days of voter registration. In Michigan, Oct. 6 was the final day to register to vote.
