The campus of Washtenaw Community College will seem a little quieter this fall without the "Amen!"'s and "God bless ya, brother!"'s constantly shouted out by grounds worker Ezell Agnew. His retirement at the end of June will mark the departure of WCC's last original employee, and over those 42 years, his friendly nature while on the job has become the stuff of legend.

"That was when the city was preparing for the Super Bowl (2006) so there were a lot of things changing in terms of old buildings being torn down and things being erected," Macdonald said, "so I just felt compelled to capture some of the things that I saw going on.
Talburtt honored with WCC Award of Merit The Washtenaw Community College Board of Trustees recognized Ann Arbor nonprofit executive Margaret "Peg" Talburtt with the 2009 Award of Merit, the college's highest honor. The award is given annually at WCC's May Commencement.
Imagine signing up for a pricey gym membership and not showing up. Happens so much it's become a cliché - even at Washtenaw Community College. Of more than 1,300 students who signed up for a new class at the WCC Health and Fitness Center, 114 never showed up to break a sweat, according to numbers made available a few weeks before the Winter Semester ended.
