Ann Arbor restaurants get creative in face of recession

The sputtering economy is taking its toll on Ann Arbor restaurants. "People are trading down," said Rojer Hewlitt, an owner of the Red Hawk Bar and Grill and Zanzibar on State Street, explaining that diners in great numbers are ordering cheaper menu items.

'State of Play' - mildly entertaining, but forgettable

"State of Play" is a good movie, but this is where it stops. It's not great, it's not horrible, it's just good. It has a lot going for it, but it never seems to come to its full potential. Based on the British TV series of the same name, "State of Play" is a political thriller set in the world of corrupt politicians and dirt-digging journalists.

As a young mother pregnant with her second child, she first visited for pediatric and pre-natal care. 'Bleeding Red' puts soccer center stage at Purple Rose Theatre

The Purple Rose Theatre Company is presenting the world premiere comedy "Bleeding Red," by Michael Brian Ogden, who also plays the character Tommy in the production.

WCC finishes 4th in 'RecycleMania'

After months of paper-pinching and can-crunching, Washtenaw Community College students, faculty, staff and administrators can take a bow. RecycleMania released the results of its national competition on April 17, showing that out of hundreds of schools, WCC ranks among the best - fourth nationally - in reducing the amount of waste produced per student.
